Captain Robert Herring received the 2018 Education Award for his outstanding academic achievements. Focusing on instructing trainees on the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Operations Intelligence Watch, Robert created a training library, evaluation scenarios, and conducted crew evaluations of the NORAD and USNORTHCOM Command Center. He evaluated two leadership crew positions, domain crew coordination, and actions of the command center crew, leading to 150 crewmembers earning certifications. He is a distinguished alumnus whose peer-reviewed analytic publications are utilized across the United States Intelligence Community. Read more about Capt Herring.
Lindsay Vani received the 2018 Public Service Award, honoring her many years of service to her local community. Lindsay has held numerous volunteer positions supporting economic growth, crime prevention, and public health and safety. She is active in the local chamber of commerce and is a state-certified firefighter. Lindsay is passionate about blood donation and has donated blood for nearly 20 years, contributing almost ten gallons of blood to date. Read more about Lindsay.
Kevin Dougherty received the 2018 Distinguished Graduate Award for improving the lives of hospitalized veterans. Kevin creates activities and events where they are honored, celebrated, and revered for their service and sacrifice as a voluntary service specialist and event coordinator at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Kevin has received numerous awards for his outstanding service, including the US Navy Achievement Awards for Outstanding Performance and Leadership, first place in the 2015 VA National Creative Arts Competition, the VHA 2017 Employee of the Year, and the 2018 Greater Boston Unsung Hero Award from the Federal Executive Board. Kimberly Trenner was awarded the 2018 University Service Award for her leadership and service in forming a successful new student group, the Historical Studies Honor Society (HSHS). Kimberly is also a member of the historical society Saber and Scroll where she acted as membership secretary for two years. Kimberly, whose writing has been published in Sabre and Scroll and Needlework Magazine, was instrumental in keeping the HSHS membership informed through a newsletter, welcoming members to the group, and creating the logo.
