Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa’s Delta Pi’s purpose is to promote, encourage, and recognize scholarship and service amongst students and faculty members in all education disciplines.

Membership & Fees

Benefits include: Access to academic recognition, networking opportunities, community engagement, national/regional conferences, scholarship/award opportunities, and up-to-date information in the field of education. Exclusive classroom resources for education professionals, scholarships and grants, professional development resources for aspiring and seasoned educators, and the KDP Career Center.

Annual Membership fee: $50.

Chapter Standing

Kappa Delta Pi has achieved GOLD standing, per the university's Chapter Standards program. Gold standing demonstrates the highest level of chapter involvement and denotes excellence in chapter leadership and member engagement.

Leadership Opportunities

Campus leadership opportunities are a great way to meet other students, alumni, and faculty at the university while also developing skills in the areas of:

  • Self-management
  • Administrative and project management
  • Organizational knowledge and strategy
  • Critical thinking and reflection
  • Communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork

The Office of Student and Alumni Affairs is always looking for people to get involved and be campus leaders, including chapter officers, who lead student organizations like this one. If you’re interested in being a campus leader and chapter officer, please email studentaffairs@apus.edu to ask if there are chapter officer openings for this organization!

Eligibility

Eligible students meeting the criteria below will receive an invitation to join during the months of May & November. If you believe you are eligible and do not receive an invitation, email studentaffairs@apus.edu.

Criteria:

General Membership

  • Active university student pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in education; Human Development and Family Studies, Teaching, and Educational Leadership.
  • Completed at least six semester hours at the undergraduate or graduate level
  • Has complied with university policies on academic integrity

Bachelor's Level Membership (In addition to the above General Membership Criteria)

  • Completed at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate course work.
  • Completed a minimum of six semester hours of education coursework.
  • Has a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or greater

Master's Level Membership (In addition to the above General Membership Criteria)

  • Completed at least 6 semester hours of graduate course work.
  • Completed a minimum of six semester hours of education coursework.
  • Has a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or greater
