International Association of Emergency Managers

The International Association of Emergency Managers chapter is the largest student chapter directly affiliated with the International Association of Emergency Managers. The association strives to further the cause of emergency management in its community to increase awareness among its members. The chapter was the recipient of the 2013 IAEM Student Chapter of Year Award. In addition, Dr. Karan Cieslewicz, was recognized as the 2013 IAEM Chapter Advisor of the Year.

Membership & Fees

Benefits include: Educational enhancement, student scholarships and professional development. Membership builds ties to the profession and professionals within the emergency management field and allows members to connect on a personal and professional level.

Annual membership fee: $45.

Process: Visit the IAEM website and join as a student. Email your e-receipt to studentaffairs@apus.edu and a chapter officer will provide you access to the chapter's website.

Chapter Standing

The International Association of Emergency Managers has achieved GOLD standing, per the university's Chapter Standards program. GOLD standing demonstrates the highest level of chapter involvement and denotes excellence in chapter leadership and member engagement.

Eligibility

If you are a full-time student in our emergency and disaster management program or a related field, you are eligible for membership. Membership will be actively sought during the months of May & November.
