Learn About Deana

BA in PsychologySchool of Arts, Humanities and Education

Driven by her passion for helping children in need, Deana was inspired to earn her bachelor’s in psychology. Although she was a new mother at the time she enrolled, online courses at APU empowered Deana to chase her dreams.

She completed her studies—without missing out on spending time with her daughter—thanks to her family’s support and a flexible class schedule.

Today, Deana looks back fondly on her academic experience, as she uses her degree to enrich the lives of children.

How She Did it

Getting Started

Deana’s brother—an AMU student at the time—introduced her to APU’s online degree programs.

Transfer Credits

Applying the credits she’d already earned in a local community college allowed Deana to save time and money earning her bachelor’s degree.*

Flexibility

Taking classes online meant Deana could be present for her infant daughter while she furthered her education.

*The University reserves the right to accept or deny credits according to the policies outlined on the University website. Actual time to completion will be based upon transfer credit evaluation and eligibility.

The fact that I was able to get my degree while I was at home just made it so much easier. My daughter was two months old, and I was able to sit on the couch, feed her, and write my paper at the same time.
