About This Program
Web 2.0 tools have influenced organizations ranging from small businesses to vast international corporations. Build a foundational understanding of web 2.0 concepts, trends, features, tools, and best practices used to build websites, blogs, forums, discussion boards, online communities, and wikis with the undergraduate certificate in web 2.0 from American Public University (APU).
In your web 2.0 online courses, you will become familiar with the various methods of posting information from blogs into webpages using RSS and Atom techniques. You will also develop knowledge of how web 2.0 has increased global communication, information sharing, and business success in many industries.
NOTE: Prior experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript® is recommended.

What You Will Do
- Become familiar with World Wide Web architecture, directory structures, document flow, and protocols, as well as the technologies, practices, and management issues in web 1.0 and web 2.0
- Understand the trends and potential of web 2.0
- Develop your understanding of tools for building blogs, wikis, forums, discussion boards, and other web 2.0 technologies
- Study the principles and practices to manage users of web 2.0 tools and technologies
- Grow your understanding of social networking and examine its impact on business processes and relationships, as well as web 2.0’s psychological and sociological aspects and web 2.0 marketing and branding concepts
