This course is a culminating course for the Associate of Arts in Retail Management. It is designed to allow the student to review, analyze and integrate the work the student has completed toward a degree in Retail Management. The student will complete an approved academic project or paper that demonstrates a grasp of management study. This is a culminating course to be taken after all other Associate of Arts in Retail Management courses have been satisfactorily completed. Student must have SOPHOMORE standing to register. This course is to be taken the LAST course in the A.A. in Retail Management program.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
1.Distinguish differing traits between a leader and a manager and how both handle conflict management.
2.Summarize the importance of customer relations when viewing organizational goals.
3.Differentiate between verbal and nonverbal communication and listening skills and their importance in customer relations.
4.Differentiate the different types of methods retailer’s use to maintain accurate inventory levels.
5.Analyze the effects of global sourcing and logistics on a retailer’s inventory supply chain.
6.Compare and contrast the basic principles of financial accounting, operational and financial leverage.
7.Explain the concepts of financial planning and forecasting in the retail industry.
8.Identify varying problems from a risk management standpoint that can impact a retail organization.
