This course utilizes an experiential format to focus on a variety of concepts and practices associated with developing and managing an effective team. Students will have the opportunity to evaluate the different approaches to management, motivation, and performance, along with some barriers to effective team efforts.

After successfully completing this course, students will fulfill the following Learning Objectives:
1: Explore the theoretical foundations of team management theory in business education, and human services.
2: Demonstrate mastery of positive team management practices.
3: Examine practical applications of team management in business, education, and human services.
4: Explain the meaning and importance of shared values, vision, commitment, team building, empowerment, and problem resolution.
5: Demonstrate the ability to critique existing team management practices and to implement positive strategies developing and managing empowered teams.
6: Show the ability to use computer applications to organize, interpret, and present team and group research data.
7: Establish a personal philosophy of team management and consider ethical standards related to the conduct of teaming business, education, and human services.
8: Develop and implement appropriate sampling techniques, which demonstrate mastery of the language and vocabulary of teaming.
