Focus is on fundamental laws, rules, and regulations applicable to the hospitality industry regarding rights and liabilities of innkeepers and restaurant operators. Case studies will be used to provide additional learning opportunities specific to hospitality.

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the development of rules regarding the rights and liabilities of innkeeper.
  2. Clarify the hotel’s obligation to protect its guests and scope of liability.
  3. Analyze the employer and employee relationship within the dynamic of the organization.
  4. Analyze legal implications of management decisions within hospitality operations.
  5. Analyze legislation influencing the hospitality industry.
