This course is an introduction to environmental policy, regulation, and law in the U.S. Subjects covered will include command and control of regulation, air quality, water quality, control of toxic materials, waste management, energy, and natural resources.

After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:

LO-1 Describe the major types and sources of indoor and outdoor air pollutants.

LO-2 Compare and contrast air quality index values from one area of the county to your home.

LO-3 Assess the lessons of the “Tragedy of the Commons” to current air quality problems.

LO-4 Analyze the impact of air pollutants on human health and ecological systems.

LO-5 Analyze the influence of air pollution regulations and control on the economy.

LO-6 Assess the effectiveness of current air quality regulations and international treaties and agreements in limiting the degradation of air resources

LO-7 Analyze air pollution source control technologies for particulate matter.
