Course Code: COLL200 Course ID: 4446 Credit Hours: 3 Level: Undergraduate
This course provides a structured series of activities designed to provide the student with a systematic approach to petition for credit for learning obtained outside a traditional classroom. Students will learn to differentiate between experience, experiential learning, and learning by experience. They will analyze their personal knowledge, skills, and abilities and leverage them to develop and achieve educational goals as they learn about learning styles and theories. Students will identify prior learning and will be introduced to methods by which they can demonstrate that learning. Students will develop and submit at least one portfolio for assessment. Students are able to submit portfolios for additional classes after course completion. The evaluation fee for additional portfolios is $250 per portfolio. NOTE: students must be admitted to the PLA program before registering for this course.
