1Tuition figures based on lowest possible tuition rates for 10 of the leading regionally accredited providers of online education. Public in-state tuition information provided by the College Board 2012 Trends in College Pricing, National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) 2011 Digest of Educational Statistics, and APUS estimates. Sources of data for competitor institutions include SEC filings and university-provided data available on the Web as of May 2012. Only institutional fees required of all students (unless a waiver is granted) were included, such as Application, Transfer Credit, Technology, and Graduation fees. Undergraduate tuition assumes 10 classes per year over 4 years for a total of 120 semester hours. Graduate tuition assumes 6 classes per year over 2 years for a total of 36 semester hours, and does not account for programs of varying lengths or those programs that require a comprehensive exam, a capstone project, or an integrative practicum. Scholarships or tuition discounts are also not included.

5Our Undergraduate Book Grant provides textbooks, e-books, and other course materials at no cost for undergraduate-level courses for credit. All students must obtain their own software when required for a course or program.
