Scholarships
- Scholarships are gift funds that are often awarded to students based on various criteria- high academic achievement, special talents or other association with the sponsor
- Like grants they do not have to be repaid
- We encourage you to investigate the availability of grants or scholarships from all sources - review the APUS Web site, research the Department of Education resources and contact local or private organizations like AMVETS, Rotary Clubs, community foundations or the chamber of commerce just to name a few
- There are over 100 organizations that have provided our students scholarships
- Each application process is different
Outside Scholarships
- Students may pay for course registrations with outside scholarships
- Those who will be using an awarded scholarship to pay for a course registration must indicate this payment method when registering for a course
- Students using outside scholarships will not be able to enter their classrooms until formal verification of the scholarship arrives at APUS
- Applicants for Federal Student Aid and/or Private loan programs are required to notify Financial Aid Services of their award and award amount
- This information is required to be recorded and used to calculate your eligibility for Federal Assistance
