Financial Aid Refund Process

Higher One Refund Access Card EnvelopeThe university has engaged Higher One, a financial services company focused solely on higher education, to provide a faster, more convenient way to get financial aid refunds to all students. Students applying for Federal Student Aid at our university will receive a refund access card in the mail. The card will arrive in an envelope that looks like the sample provided on the right.

Higher One Refund Access CardSimply put, this refund access card is designed to provide students with increased choice when it comes to receiving refunds. Students are able to choose between using their refund access card as a debit card linked to a Higher One account, or using the card to have their refund deposited directly to their existing bank account.

Students are advised to activate the refund access card as soon as it arrives and keep it in a safe place, even if they are not currently expecting a refund from the university. Payment methods can change, and the card can be used for future refunds, if needed.

A valid mailing address is required to send the refund access card. Students should log into the e-campus and check to make sure a correct mailing address is on file. To verify address information, students simply select “Change Contact Information” from the left navigation bar of the e-campus to review and make changes to current mailing address information.
