Career Week 2013: Get More Out of Commencement

Career WeekDuring the week of June 10-14, 2013, The Office of Career Services will have a whole week of new and exciting activities to help our students and alumni with their career search: Career Week 2013.

For starters, we will hold a Virtual Career Fair (VCF) on Monday and Tuesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event enables students and alumni from all over the country to meet with hiring employers through an online platform, NACElink, from wherever they have an internet connection. Registration for this event is open now in NACElink!

Midweek, two live webcasts will be held. Tune in on Wednesday for resources to help you prepare for the In-Person Career Fair and again on Thursday for a lesson in the use and importance of social media to encourage networking opportunities with prospective employers. Can’t attend? Register anyway and get a recording.

On Friday, Career Week 2013 culminates with an In-Person Career Fair, which will be held in conjunction with commencement festivities. All aspects of the in-person event, listed below, will be taking place at the Gaylord Convention Center in Maryland.

  • In-Person Career Fair, (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) for students and alumni to meet with hiring employers in person.
  • In-Person Career Coaching, (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) for those students and alumni that are in need of a resume review or brushing up on interview skills before talking with employers.
  • Two industry panel discussions (1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.) lead by two leaders in their industry.
