Military History Online Master's Degree

 

The University offers its flagship Master of Arts in Military History which explores the historiography of military and warfare that shaped future civilization. The curriculum is conducted entirely online, empowering working adults with access to career-relevant education that fits into their busy schedules. Through this fascinating graduate-level education, students have the unique flexibility to concentrate their studies in American Military History, the American Revolution, Civil War, Military and Diplomatic History, World War II, and War Since 1945. The curriculum explores the strategy, command, leadership, tactics and technological advances in weaponry that altered the outcome of some of the most significant battles in history.

The curriculum not only examines actual battles, it addresses social structures, military attitudes, and organizational relationships between officers and troops and the interrelationships between military and civilian societies. Additionally, the online Master of Arts in Military History emphasizes valuable research, writing and communication skills that working professionals seek.

Classes at the University are taught by expert practitioners. Many within the military history discipline are published historians and military leaders who share a strong passion for their studies and bring unique perspectives and relevant research into the classroom discussion. 2 A $50 Technology Fee will be charged for all future undergraduate and graduate level course registrations, including audited courses. The fee is not applicable for Comprehensive Exam courses. An APUS grant will cover the fee for Active Duty Military, Reservists, National Guard, Vocational Rehabilitation (VOCA), VA and VA Chapter 33 students, and anyone using military tuition assistance (TA).

3 Transfer Credit Evaluation Fee waived for all United States Active Duty Military, Guard, and Reserve personnel.

4 If a comprehensive exam is required to complete your program of study there will be an additional fee of $250. This fee covers the cost of exam supplies and materials.

5 Cost for books and supplies is based on an average for the courses within this degree program. Students must obtain their own software when required for a course or program.

6 This figure does not include PLUS loans or TEACH grants converted to Unsubsidized Federal Direct Loans.
