As a leader in online education, the University offers an impressive portfolio of career-relevant certificates that professionals are seeking, including the Undergraduate Certificate in Internet Webmaster. This unique certificate program is offered entirely online, which enables professionals to fit career-relevant education into their busy schedules and to learn in a familiar Web environment. Through this unique certificate students develop essential skills needed to design and optimize compelling enterprise Websites. The program examines effective Web design, Internet concepts, search engine optimization (SEO), Web development fundamentals, and tools such as Dreamweaver and Adobe Flash.
The certificate is designed to meet industry needs with curriculum that aligns with the Certified Internet Webmaster (CIW), CIW Associate Design Specialist and CIW professional standards. The program examines best practices for layout, navigation, typography, Web graphics, and color theory. Students also learn fundamentals of HTML, XML, XHTML, mobile media, structural elements (tables and framesets), cascading style sheets and metadata. Prior experience with scripting languages, such as JavaScript, is recommended. Students connect online with the university’s expansive community of IT professionals. Courses are taught by expert instructors, many who are leaders in IT serving in government agencies and private industry.
