Online Graduate Certificate in Information Assurance

As a leader in online education, the University offers an impressive portfolio of career-relevant certificates that IT professionals are seeking, including the Graduate Certificate in Information Assurance. The certificate program is offered entirely online, which enables IT professionals to fit a graduate-level education into their busy schedules and to learn in a familiar Web environment. Information Assurance (IA) focuses on protecting sensitive information at organizational, governmental, national, and federal levels. Curriculum is specifically designed to align with IA guidance levels in accordance with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and the National Security Agency’s Security Directive 42.

This career-relevant certificate program teaches students to assess and mitigate systems vulnerability and threat analysis. Students master advanced IA security solutions, tiered security assessments, specific solutions for specialized needs, and network security solutions that enable assured information sharing across security domains or communities. The program teaches methods for continuous monitoring, activity analysis, threat detection, threat warnings, attack alerts, security awareness training and support, cryptography, and infrastructure security engineering. Students connect online with the University’s expansive community of IT professionals. Courses are taught by expert IT instructors and many professors are leaders in the IT field serving in government agencies and private industry.
