The University offers its popular Graduate Certificate in Emergency and Disaster Management entirely online. This flexibility gives working professionals the opportunity to pursue an advanced certificate without sacrificing their existing duties. Through this exciting graduate certificate program, students gain a strong foundation in consequence and crisis management.
The program exposes students to advanced operating characteristics, response and recovery functions, and resource management of an integrated emergency management system. The University System is accredited by the Foundation of Higher Education for Disaster and Emergency Management and Homeland Security. The University also works closely with industry advisory councils and leaders to ensure that students are exposed to techniques and strategies based on information reported back from actual missions. In addition, students are taught by practicing experts. Many instructors are leaders with mission experience and they have supported some of the largest and complex emergency and disaster responses in the United States and abroad. Our emergency and disaster management students and instructors comprise a close and supportive community of learners. Many students are actively involved with industry associations including the International Association of Emergency Managers, Masters of Disaster, Golden Key International Honour Society, and more. Students tend to stay connected and they continually hone their knowledge through education as they prepare to mitigate future disasters.
The University’s emergency and disaster management program is the first online program to receive accreditation by the Foundation for Higher Education Accreditation (FFHEA).
