The University is one of the nation’s premiere online universities preparing criminal justice professionals through higher education. This career-relevant program offers law-enforcement and criminal justice professionals, managers and administrators the ability to earn a graduate-level certificate entirely online. Designed to prepare criminal justice leaders, students enrolled in the program conduct advanced studies in criminal behavior with a focus on biological, psychological and sociological perspectives.
The program addresses key applications of state and federal law and their relationships to procedural and substantive procedures. Students also study theories of punishment and behavioral corrections, the constitutionality of key laws, and the public issues most pertinent to the criminal justice system today.
The University consults with industry advisory councils to assess the curriculum and verify that it aligns with industry regulations and emerging practices in criminal justice. Students join a unified network of law-enforcement and criminal justice professionals who share a common vision to protect their community and nation. Classes are instructed by expert professors with extensive field experience. Students learn directly from experienced practitioners, many who share their knowledge acquired while serving as sheriffs, legal counsel, police chiefs, and military and homeland security leaders.
