Dr. Oliver Hedgepeth
Professor of Transportation and Logistics
American Public University

For 28 years, Oliver Hedgepeth was with the Department of Defense, employed as a civilian operations research analyst. He shuttled among the Pentagon, Crystal City, Fort Monroe, Fort Leavenworth, Fort Lee, and Fort Belvoir while conducting cost and operational effectiveness analyses, developing computer models, and artificial intelligence applications for logistics and combat systems. After his career in the DOD, William worked for GRCI, which eventually merged with ATT. While there, he was a senior scientist for Army logistics program developments. Read more...

Irvin Varkonyi has three decades of experience in the transportation and logistics industry. He is Marketing Manager for Transportation and Logistics Programs at the American Public University where he is also an adjunct professor teaching transportation security, global logistics, comparative transportation systems, and business logistics engineering. He also holds adjunct professor positions at George Mason University’s School of Public Policy and the University of Denver. Read more...

Phil Ratcliff has almost 15 years of experience in premium logistics with Panther Expedited Services, Inc. He started his career at Panther as one of the company’s first frontline truck dispatchers. He currently holds the post of VP, Strategic Resources. In this role, he oversees the Human Resource function to include recruiting and employee development and also acts as the corporate project manager and quality system manager, overseeing projects as diverse as building renovations to department reorganizations to strategic software implementations. Phil holds a BA in History from Youngstown State University and an MBA from Walsh University.
