In a recent study presented at a meeting of the American Physical Society, scholars suggested that religion may be dying in nine countries including: Australia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Canada, Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. But what is causing this unprecedented cultural phenomenon and what is the future of religious affiliations in these nations?

Mark Wessner

Mark Wessner, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Religious Studies at APU

Professor Wessner has earned a Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies from the University of Pretoria, and he has developed and taught numerous courses in community, business, and university settings. Along with being an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at APU since 2002, he is also a pastor at a local community church. Professor Wessner has been an inter-faith Prison Chaplain at a medium-maximum security institution, and was also responsible for implementing and managing a new client-focused service delivery initiative on behalf of the provincial government in British Columbia, Canada. Donna Wade is an adjunct instructor at APU. Her areas of teaching focus include communications, public speaking, and women in leadership. She also oversees a free tutoring program in Idaho which provides tutoring services in public schools through Title I Federal funding. Read more...
