John KropJohn Krop joined the American Public University System (APUS) faculty as an Adjunct Instructor within the Department of Transportation and Logistics Management. John earned a B.A. in Sociology/Psychology from the University of Portland; and earned a M.S. in Procurement and Contract Management from the University of Maryland University College and a M.P.A. in Public Administration Management from the University of Colorado.

John is a retired executive from the United States Postal Service with work experience in transportation logistics management and events management. While working as a logistics manager, he developed a transportation mode selection process; developed dispatch priority and procedures for regulating commercial, highway and air transportation. Designed and managed national air and highway transportation network; developed contract requirements and evaluated performance of rail, highway, and air transportation contractors. John was the primary liaison and key logistics manager to the Department of Defense for all mail transportation supporting military armed forces serving in Desert Storm. As an events manager, he orchestrated the planning and logistics of all national events, tradeshows, and conferences. Additionally provided advance services and protocol briefings for the USPS Board of Directors, Postmaster General and the senior officers. Before joining the postal service, John served in the United States Air Force. He is a retired Major serving as a squadron commander and logistics director. He was also an instructor at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He taught logistics and transportation training for field operations and headquarters personnel.
