APU belongs to numerous organizations. A partial list is below. 

American Sport Education Program (ASEP)
ASEP is an international publisher of sport, physical activity, and health resources for coaches, officials, administrators, parents, and athletes. American Public University has partnered with ASEP to offer APU undergraduate students an opportunity to earn the Bronze level coaching certification and graduate students the Coaching Principles coaching certification. Students who successfully complete the requirements are automatically listed in the National Coaches Registry (NCR). More than 40 state high school associations either recognize or require this certification for coaches.

American Trucking Association (ATA)
ATA members diligently train drivers to insure compliance with safety regulations and educate owner-operators to efficiently manage their single truck or multi-truck fleets to their benefit, their employees and their customers. American Public University is an affiliate member of ATA and active member of ATA’s Information Technology and Logistics Council which seeks to improve truckers’ productivity through technology.

International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)
IAEM is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting the goals of saving lives and protecting property during emergencies and disasters. American Public University System is an affiliate member of IAEM.

National Connections Academy
National Connections Academy's Dual Diploma Program allows students to earn an upper school diploma and an associate degree in just four years. In this exciting program, students at National Connections Academy can complete a year of upper school and a year of college for the cost of only one year's upper school tuition! In only four years, students will have both their upper school diploma from National Academy and an associate degree from American Public University. They can then choose to start a career right after school with the increased earning power of a college degree - or continue on to complete a bachelor's degree in just two more years.

National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS)
Through their partnership, the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) and American Public University have established a graduate-level history course specifically designed for the professional membership of NCSS. The course, HIST-681: Teaching New American History, prepares teachers to offer a professional development workshop based on the principles of Powerful and Authentic Social Studies (PASS), a program developed by the NCSS.

National Strength and Conditioning Association- Certification Commission (NSCA-CC)
As a worldwide authority on strength and conditioning, the NSCA-CC supports and disseminates research-based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness.  American Public University has a partnership with the NSCA-CC that offers students discounts on exam fees and preparation materials for both the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification programs.

Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
Walmart has partnered with APU to give Walmart and Sam’s Club associates the opportunity to pursue an Associate or Bachelor’s degree by combining job learning with online degree programs. Associates in selected positions will be eligible for college credits based on job learning they have received during their career with Walmart or Sam's Club.  As part of the program, associates are also eligible to receive the Lifelong Learning Grant to assist with the cost of tuition.
