The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program is one of the most prestigious and competitive government employment opportunities and serves as the government's flagship leadership development program. Candidates should be highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to scholarship, public service, their field of study, and academic excellence. The PMF application for the class of 2017 is now closed.
November 2017: Application for the PMF Class of 2018 will become available for approximately two weeks on USAJobs.gov. Interested individuals may locate this announcement by searching for “Presidential Management Fellows.” Finalists are typically announced in January 2018. More information will be made available on the PMF website once the announcement opens.
- Stage 1 - Online Assessment: The results of the online assessment are the basis for the selection of semifinalists. Please allow approximately three hours to prepare, review, and submit your application.
- Stage 2 - In-Person Assessment: Semifinalists are required to attend an in-person assessment in Washington, D.C. at their own expense.
- Stage 3 - Finalist Selection: Once selected, finalists are given the opportunity to apply directly to Fellows positions with participating government agencies and have one year to secure a position.

Fellows can be hired at one of three grade levels, from GS-9 to GS-12. Although most Fellows may be appointed at the GS-9 level, be aware that this opportunity can lead to a number of career outcomes. View profiles of past fellows.
