The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and American Public University (APU) are working together to offer you flexible and affordable online college programs that directly align with NASM credentials for the NASM-CPT and NASM-PES exams.
Undergraduate students: You have the option to take the NASM-CPT exam at an APU-preferred student rate upon completing the APU Exercise Programming and Testing (SPHE420) course, taught through our B.S. in Sports and Health Sciences program.
Graduate students: You have the option to take the NASM-PES exam at an APU-preferred student rate upon completing the APU Optimal Sports Performance (SPHS509) course, taught through our M.S. in Sports and Health Sciences program.
Benefits for NASM Employees
- College credit for NASM Certified Personal Trainer certificate holders
- Book grant: textbooks and/or ebooks are provided at no charge to students earning undergraduate academic credit.

Tuition Cost per Credit
- Undergraduate: $270
- Graduate: $350
- *Military Undergraduate: $250
- *Military Graduate: $325
*We offer our military-affiliated students a tuition grant that caps undergraduate tuition at $250/credit hour (military TA limit) and graduate tuition at $325/credit hour. This grant is for U.S. active-duty servicemembers, Guard, Reserve, military spouses and dependents, and veterans.
