Elizabeth D. Moneymaker, Esq.

Prof. Elizabeth Moneymaker is a licensed attorney in Missouri, Georgia, and Florida. She currently practices in a litigation firm in Sarasota, Florida. She has practiced law for over twelve years in both the United States Army as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) and as a civilian litigator. She received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas.

After earning her juris doctorate, Ms. Moneymaker served on active duty with the Army as a JAG for over four years. During that time she served as a legal assistance attorney, administrative law attorney, a military prosecutor and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, and finally as Chief, International and Criminal Law Division, Third United States Army.

After leaving active duty, Ms. Moneymaker has continued to serve the JAG Corps as a reserve officer. She served as the Deputy Staff Judge Advocate for the 335th Theater Signal Command, where she was mobilized and deployed in support of Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. As the primary legal advisor to a two-star communications command, Ms. Moneymaker provided legal advice to criminal investigators, information assurance officers, and the commanding general regarding network security, unauthorized access to government networks, unauthorized use of government computers, command policies regarding network usage, and assistance with coordination among the other military services, private companies, and foreign governments regarding network and satellite rights in the Southwest Asia area of operations.

As a civilian attorney, Ms. Moneymaker's practice focuses on civil litigation, primarily in defense of companies in the construction defect, products liability, and employment discrimination arenas. She continues to serve as a reserve officer.

In her free time, Ms. Moneymaker enjoys reading while sitting on one of the many beautiful Florida Gulf beaches, cooking, volunteering for community projects, and virtually anything outdoors.
