
Mr. John F. Hein earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Public Service with an emphasis in police and fire administration. He received additional graduate credits from the US Customs Service Management School and attended the Federal Executive Institute, Charlottesville, VA. He is a graduate of numerous courses offered by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) Academy, Brunswick, GA. He is a member of ASIS International and holds the distinction of being a Certified Protection Professional(CPP).
Mr. Hein has over thirty years of experience in the law enforcement and security fields. His military experience began in 1968 as an active duty Special Agent with US Army Military Intelligence. He spent six years with the US Coast Guard Reserve and was a reserve special agent with AFOSI for over twenty three years. He began his civilian law enforcement career in 1973 as a Deputy Sheriff. He held progressively responsible positions as a federal criminal investigator for twenty seven years in three federal agencies with assignments in Chicago, Miami, Washington, DC, and New York City. While in Miami, FL, as a US Customs Special Agent he was detailed to the Drug Enforcement Administration for two and one half years.
Following activation by the Air Force Reserve in September 2001, he retired as a Senior Special Agent, Area Director, Europe/Africa Desk, US Customs Service, Office of International Affairs, and Foreign Operations Division.
