Professor Luckett holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Studies/Management from the University of Central Texas, and a Master of Arts in Management from Webster University. He has been designated a Certified Food Executive by the International Food Service Executives Association. In addition to teaching Hospitality and Tourism Management courses at APUS, Professor Luckett teaches online at Technical and Community Colleges in North and South Carolina. His professional management experience spans over 30 years, which has enabled him to acquire knowledge of hotel, restaurant and club operations, cost control and accounting analysis, financial management, forecasting, budgeting, purchasing, inventory management, contracting, administration, personnel management, quality assurance, menu development, design, layout, and renovation of foodservice facilities, nutrition, training and development, sanitation and food safety, logistics management, marketing, catering, and management of multiple-site food service operations. Professor Luckett served on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps for 31 years and recently retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was a two winner of the Major General W.P.T. Hill memorial award for the best managed Dining Facility operation in the Marine Corps, and winner of the best Field Messing operation award. As a senior Food Service Officer, he made significant contributions to the Marine Corps Food Service and Subsistence Program.
Currently, he resides in Jacksonville, NC and is the owner of Luckett and Associates Hospitality Management Consulting business.
