Ross A Wolf

Dr. Ross Wolf holds a Doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration and Education Leadership from the University of Central Florida and has over twenty years of experience as a law enforcement officer. He has served as a member of patrol, criminal investigations, specialized patrol, and a plainclothes tactical unit as a member of a major metropolitan police agency. Dr. Wolf holds several advanced training certificates from the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Division including Law Enforcement Instructor, Criminal Law, and Investigative Interviewing.

Dr. Wolf has authored or co-authored four course texts, over twenty published articles and book chapters, and several research reports. His areas of research focus on campus law enforcement, police reserves, police use of force and less-lethal weapons, tourism policing, and international policing. He has presented papers and training classes and worked with police agencies throughout the United States, in Canada, in Russia, in Europe, and in the Caribbean, and holds an appointment as Senior Research Associate for the Weapons and Equipment Research Institute in Fort Myers, FL.

Dr. Wolf continues to serve as a law enforcement officer as Division Chief with the Orange County (Florida) Sheriff’s Office Reserve Unit. In addition to teaching classes for the past twenty years at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, he is also an instructor at the Criminal Justice Institute police academy in Orlando.

Dr. Wolf is a member of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, the American Society of Criminology, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Sheriff's Association, the American Criminal Justice Association, the Southern Criminal Justice Association, and ASIS International.
