Chris D Morton

Christopher Morton was commissioned in December 1992 following graduation from Old Dominion University with a BA in History. Following his assignment to the Basic School, he reported to Camp Johnson, NC for Supply Officer School. His first assignment was to the 2nd Marine Division with service in 3rd Battalion, 10th Marines; 1st Battalion, 8th Marines; and 2nd Battalion, 10th Marines. He then was assigned to Inspector Instructor duty with 3rd Battalion, 23rd Marines in New Orleans. While serving as Asst Inspector Instructor, he was selected for the Advanced Degree program and attended the University of New Orleans, completing his Master’s Degree in May 2000. Maj Morton's next assignment was to the History Department, U. S. Naval Academy. He also served as the offensive line coach, special teams coordinator, and officer representative for the Sprint Football Team as well as the officer representative for the B Hockey team. He then served with the Logistics Directorate of Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans as the Force Supply Officer. He then transitioned to duty as the Inspector-Instructor of Detachment 2, Supply Company, 4th Supply Battalion in Albany, Georgia. He is currently assigned as the Director of Fleet Support Division at Marine Corps Logistics Command in Albany, GA.

He has been on the faculty of the American Public University System for eight years and has taught several courses, including American History to 1877, American History since 1877, Military Fiction, Military Leadership, Military Structure and Organization, US Naval History, US Marine Corps History, Naval Warfare, Amphibious Warfare, and The Military Novel. Chris Morton is married to the former Tracy Campbell. They have 2 sons, ages 17 and 20.
