
Katie Berryhill earned a bachelor's degree in astronomy and astrophysics from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in space studies from the University of North Dakota. She is currently a doctoral student in science education at the University of Wyoming. She is an astronomy educator with many years of experience teaching astronomy including at the collegiate level, in planetaria, and as a NASA Solar System Ambassador, conducting volunteer public education and outreach events in support of NASA's astronomical and Earth sciences spacecraft. Her experience in planetarium work includes almost 20 years as a planetarium lecturer at the California Academy of Sciences' Morrison Planetarium in San Francisco, and seven years coordinating the Benjamin Dean Lecture Series in Astronomy. Professor Berryhill was a U.S. Air Force intelligence officer, serving on active duty in Strategic Air Command and as a reservist in Air Mobility Command. She and her husband, Jon, own and operate a computer forensics analysis and consulting company. They have two children, and reside in Northern California.
