Biography - Christopher M Weppler


Christopher Weppler joins the School of Science and Technology with a broad array of experience in the Information Technology and Security industry. Starting out, Christopher earned his degree at Farmingdale State College with a concentration in computer information systems. After being selected to teach courses for Farmingdale State, Christopher continued his eductation at University of Maryland University College; earning a Masters in Information Technology/Information Security. With a new goal in mind, Christopher moved on to a PhD program at Capella University where he is currently completing his dissertation.

Christopher has been in the IT field for over 20 years, working in technical support, smart classroom design, distributed computing, networking and security management. Currently, his focus has been on instructional design and introducing new educational technology to faculty for use in their courses.

In the off hours, Christopher volunteers with the local fire department where he plays in the fire department marching band. He also enjoys listening to music, watching old movies, playing guitar and spending as much time with family and friends as possible.
