I have been a Mathematics Teacher for over 30 years and have taught both at the high school and college levels. Teaching has been a most rewarding experience for me.
It is my view that the general goals of education are to help students to appreciate and respect themselves and others, to think rationally and to be prepared for life in general. It is also my belief that teaching is the most fundamental vehicle in the field of education by which all three of these goals can be achieved.
I moved to Georgia from Toronto, mainly because of the severe Canadian winters. The majority of my teaching experiences have been in Georgia and I have lived in the Savannah area for over twenty years. In addition, I have also taught mathematics in various countries including Venezuela and Trinidad. My sojourns to these countries have left me with a greater understanding of a wide range of learners and humanity as a whole.
My formal educational experiences have also extended beyond my present teaching area. I have degrees in Mathematics, Science, Sociology and Education. Most of my undergraduate degrees are Canadian and graduate degrees are from the USA.
