Dr. Box served for thirteen years in local governments in Oregon and California as a land-use planner, a department head in the areas of planning, building safety, housing, and public works, and as a city administrator before going into academia. He has taught at University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (1990-1998) and University of Nebraska at Omaha (1998-2011). His research interests include the role of the public service practitioner in a democratic society and the political and economic environment of public administration.
