
Patrick Scott is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Missouri State University. He teaches undergraduate courses in American Government and graduate courses in Public Administration (e.g., Leadership and Ethics, Organization Theory, and Program Evaluation.) His Ph.D is from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
Dr. Scott's research interests cover a wide variety of topics as they pertain to public management. He has published articles in several journals, including the Journal of Public Administration: Research and Theory, the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, American Review of Public Administration, Administration and Society, Review of Public Personnel Administration, Public Budgeting and Financial Management, and Research in Public Administration.
Before joining the faculty at Missouri State University Dr. Scott was a program and management analyst at the U.S. Department of Commerce (International Trade Administration & Bureau of Export Administration) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (Office of Productivity and Management Improvements). As a federal practitioner, Dr. Scott was involved in the conduct of managerial studies and evaluations that covered a broad spectrum of agency programs, policies, and procedures.
