Biography - WenChing G LiaoDuffy


Instructor Liao-Duffy has taught in different colleges with various students in English composition, journalism and communication classes. Since the last ten years, she has taught in Texas, South Carolina, Colorado, and online classes. Students for the most part were first generation college students. Additionally, she has taught night classes for adult learners. Students of Liao-Duffy’s age ranges were from twenty to sixty. They came from different cultural backgrounds and social statuses.

Liao-Duffy received her M.A. in Communication Studies with an emphasis on media studies from St. Mary’s University at San Antonio, Texas. She gained her B.A. from Texas Lutheran University in Communication Arts. The best thing about teaching that Liao-Duffy enjoyed was what she learned from teaching others. Her students also taught her how to be a better teacher.

Besides the teaching career, Liao-Duffy was a journalist, a photographer, a translator, and an interpreter. Currently, she is living in the beautiful Rocky Mountain region with her husband (Army veteran) and her two young daughters. The Duffy family enjoys the snow and mountains. They truly appreciate what they have and are grateful for what life has to offer to them every day.
