Biography - David P Brashinger


David Brashinger received a bachelor’s degree in biology and master’s degree in microbiology and immunology from Loyola University Chicago in 1992 and 1995, respectively. His graduate work focused on the interaction between microbes and the formation of antibodies by the immune system. He is a nationally certified paramedic (NREMT-P) and Licensed Paramedic and EMS Instructor in the state of Texas. Mr. Brashinger is currently a member of the EMT and Biology faculty at San Jacinto College near Houston, Texas. From 1997 to 2010, he served as an instructor, flight controller, and instructional designer in human spaceflight mission operations at the NASA-Johnson Space Center. During his career, he specialized in space medicine, life support, and the U.S. space suit.
