Biography - Monique Tuyisenge-Onyegbula


Professor Monique Tuyisenge-Onyegbula received her Masters degree in Public and International Affairs with a concentration in International Security Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She received her Bachelors in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University’s Institute of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR)


Professor Tuyisenge-Onyegbula specializes in Conflict Resolution and Human Security. She is an adjunct Professor at APUS in the School of Security and Global Studies, International Studies Department. She is also a Program Specialist with the Sustainable Management Development Program in the Center for Global Health at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).


Professor Tuyisenge-Onyegbula is a United States Navy Veteran, having served on active duty for five years before being honorably discharged. She served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.


Professor Tuyisenge-Onyegbula is originally from Rwanda and currently resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and two boys.
