Biography - Carol J Pitman

Carol J. Pitman, MAOM, SPHR:

Carol Pitman received her Master of Arts in Organization Management from the University of Phoenix. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University and holds a Senior Professional for Human Resource Management certification from the Society for Human Resource Management.

Carol has designed and taught both graduate and undergraduate business and human resources courses for over 10 years in both the face-to-face learning environments as well as in the online environment for various educational institutions. Carol has also designed and instructed leadership/management/human resources certification courses for a community college to be delivered to local business and industry leaders and recently promoted supervisory and management personnel. In addition, Carol has taught the Society for Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) prep course for those candidates seeking Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.

Carol has worked as a human resources manager and leader for more than 20 years and has had a human resources consulting business wherein she advised and made recommendations to leadership teams regarding their human resources practices and policies. She has also designed, led and presented numerous training and education programs for all employee levels in the organization.

One of her philosophies regarding online education is that instructor presence and interaction is extremely important. Carol enjoys communicating and facilitating the learning process. She believes that “feedback is a gift” and welcomes feedback and comments from her students as this is paramount to continuous improvement of the educational process.
