Dr. Miller has been teaching International Relations and Comparative Politics for 8 years, specializing in the politics of Latin America, with a particular focus on development issues in Central America. He received his PhD from Purdue University in 2004.
His primary teaching interests include economic development and international relations theory. He has published books on the settlement of the civil war in El Salvador (Mellen 2006)and the role of ecotourism in the development of Costa Rica (Lexington 2012).
He has travelled extensively throughout Central America in support of his research and has been awarded a United States Department of Education Summer Library Fellowship to the University of Pittsburgh three times. (2008, 2011 and 2012)
A native of Illinois, Dr. Miller now lives in Northeast Pennsylvania with his wife Christy and enjoys sports and travelling.
