Kimberley Mumford was born in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
She began her career in the hospitality industry at the age of 17. She began working as a salad prep and dishwasher. After graduating high school she moved to the front of the house and learned to waitress and bartend. Eventually she learned to work on the line of restaurants cooking. She was then hired as a dining room manager.
She served in the United States Air Force and comes from a family of military personnel. Members of her family have served in many wars ranging from World War II to Desert Storm.
She graduated with a B.S. of Business Administration at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2004. While attending classes she worked full time training to be a general manager and attended classes on a full time basis. She was promoted to general manager before completion of her degree.
Upon completion of her bachelor degree she obtained a position as Food and Beverage Manager.
In 2008 she completed her Master of Arts in Adult Education and Training through the University of Phoenix online. She has worked in the hospitality and retail industries for over 30 years. One day she would like to open her own restaurant. Currently she is working on her PhD in Education - Professional Studies with Capella University.
In addition to teaching at APUS as an adjunct faculty member, she currently owns her own business. When Kim is not working she loves spending time with her son, gardening, reading, and traveling. She currently resides in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania with her son.
