Dr.Terrance Knox is an adjunct instructor for graduate management courses. I teach a wide range of business/management courses at American Public University. I am a native of South Carolina I grew up about 15 miles south of Myrtle Beach SC. I have resided in Atlanta Georgia the past 20 years. My hobbies include exercising, traveling and visiting art museums. I also enjoy being an instructor and mentor, helping others learn new things they can apply in the real world.
Dr. Knox has received an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology from Nielsen Electronics Institute in 1988 and a Bachelor of Science in Technical in 1999 at DeVry University. I also received my Master of Business of Administration from American InterContinental in 2003(alumni). I obtained my PhD in Applied Management Decision Science with a specialization in Engineering Management.
In addition to obtaining undergraduate and advance degrees, I have also obtained several certifications. UMTS Installation Certification from EXI Parsons Inc, Project +from Compitia, Register Technical Project Management from BICSI, and I am currently in the process of obtaining my Six Sigma Black Belt expected completion date November 2011.
My professional experiences involves over 25 years in the aerospace, telecommunications and engineering sectors. I have held various positions in my career ranging from entry level test technician to Senior Project Management. I have worked for several fortune 500 companies throughout my career such as Allied Signal Aerospace, Raytheon, Tellabs and AT&T.
My scholarly interest range has always been involved in the liaison between capacities between business and technology sectors. As a business management faculty member, I believe my role in the classroom is a facilitator and new concepts in the business field. I like to challenge students by encouraging them to participate in classroom discussion and allow them to express their opinions on the issue.
I believe in proactive system of teaching/management, thus, I often allow students to participate in the decision making during the semester I am highly dedicated to bringing technology in the classroom. I believe this is evident in my integration of all classes. In order to increase the marketability of our students in the business environment, they must be exposed to and taught the latest technology.
