Biographical Information for Robert Amato
General Information

I served in a variety of military and civilian positions within the Department of Defense throughout the last 24 years. During my career, I served on active duty with the U.S. Strategic Command, U.S. Central Command, Joint Forces Command U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command, and Pacific Air Forces. Following the attacks on 9-11, I was mobilized and served as key lead for Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations, Air Force Crisis Action Team, Pentagon, Washington DC. I later served a variety of assignments supporting OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.

As a civilian, my career spans a variety of US Government Agencies to include the Defense Intelligence Agency and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Earlier in my military career I served as an Air Reserve Technician, and as the Chief of Intelligence at the 459th Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, MD during both OPERATIONS DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM. I presently work as a US Government civilian on the Joint Chiefs of Staff J2 Directorate. I previously instructed for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the USDA Graduate School Terrorism Studies series.
