Biography - Shanna L. Barnett


Dr. Shanna Barnett, Adjunct Faculty, holds a doctoral degree in Public Health from the University Of Texas School Of Public Health –Houston, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. She comes to APUS with over 10 years of health care administration experience. She specializes in managing clinical trials and large prospective studies involving underserved populations.

Dr. Barnett is currently the Associate Director of Research Planning and Development for the Department of Health Disparities Research at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. She is also Director of the Administrative Core of the Center for Community Engaged Translational Research funded by Duncan Family Institute for Cancer Prevention and Risk Assessment. Dr. Barnett grew up in Wyoming and now lives in Texas. In addition to her work at U.T. M.D. Anderson and APUS, Shanna works in her local community and enjoys reading, international travel and playing with her dog, Trixie.
