Michael J. O'Shea earned his BA in English and Music from Emory University and his MA and PhD in English from the University of Delaware. His dissertation James Joyce and Heraldry was adapted into a book published by the State University of New York Press. He is author of book chapters and essays on cinema - including entries in the 1999 reference book Novels into Film - James Joyce, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Laurence Sterne, Shakespeare and other authors. He is co-author of the 1994 Dell trade paperback The 50 Secrets of Highly Successful Cats and, for 20 years, editor of Studies in Short Fiction, a quarterly journal with subscribers in 40 countries. He has taught writing and literature at Drexel University, Newberry College, Fayetteville State University and, currently, at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood Co.
