Biography - Craig Wilsman


Craig Wilsman, Adjunct Professor in the Management Department holds a Masters of Science Degree in Recreation & Parks Administration (Western Illinois University) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physical Education (Trinity College, Deerfield, IL). He comes to APUS with over 20 years of experience in corporate administration and teaching/coaching with non-profits, churches, community, public and collegiate institutions.

Professor Wilsman currently is teaching and coaching at Warner University in Lake Wales, FL. He has served as the Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Head Coach at The King's University College, Edmonton, AB. He had also worked earlier at Warner as the Women’s Basketball Head Coach and Instructor in the Athletic Department. This was preceded by his first stay in Canada where he was the SPORT Director and Athletic Director as well the Men’s Basketball Head Coach at Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, AB. Prior to Prairie he worked as the Bookstore Manager and Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Simpson University in Redding, California. His first Bookstore Managers experience began when he served as the Employee Gift Store Manager with the Lockheed Employees Recreation Club in Burbank, California. Professor Wilsman’s first official public recreation experience began with his work at the Ketchum Downtown YMCA in downtown Los Angeles, California. His first career position was when he was hired at Grace Community Church as their Sports Minister overseeing their Sports and Recreation Programs.

He has taught both Sports Management and Physical Education courses. He has taught Introduction to Physical Fitness, Introduction to Physical Education, Concepts of Health & Fitness and Principles of Fitness. He has also taught: Foundations of Coaching, Sports & Recreation Management, Organization & Administration of Athletics and Teaching Individual and Dual Sports.

Craig lives in Lakeland, FL with his wife Sue and their four children.
