Dr. Robert Lee Gordon
My academic background includes a Bachelors of Arts degree in History from UCLA, a Masters of Business Administration, and a Doctorate of Management and Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
I have had an extensive business background in various management positions in logistics and supply chain management. I have started and headed up the procurement and logistics function of two new cruise lines, Disney Cruise Line and United States Lines. My involvement with these billion dollar projects has given him considerable international and domestic project management experience. In addition to this business experience, I have also traveled extensively throughout North America, the Caribbean, and Europe.
I have published articles pertaining to supply chain management, strategic value added purchasing and vendor relations, as well as presenting a paper published as part of the Project Management Institute North American Congress proceedings regarding Conflict in the Virtual Organization. I have also presented at various organizations covering topics such as procurement and ship construction, including being a guest speaker at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
I have been a facilitator for several online and distance educational Universities as well as being a facilitator for Disney University. Classes that I have taught include various business, project management, critical thinking, philosophy, ethics and management graduate and undergraduate courses. At Disney University, I have taught Traditions, which is the introductory Disney styles class required for all cast members, which explains the rich tradition, history, and expectations of The Disney Company.
I am a member of the Project Management Institute, Society for the Advancement of Management, Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Associate Member and a member of the Institute for Supply Management.
Currently, I am a full time faculty member with APUS.
