Biography - Marisea N Stanley

My name is Marisea Stanley. I attended the University of San Diego where I received both a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in History. My graduate work focused heavily on American History with an emphasis in 19th and 20th century social and cultural US History. I also specialize in American Women’s history having written my thesis on Women’s experiences during the Cold War.

I have always taken classes in a physical classroom but my school has incorporated blackboard use and most recently Sakai. I always thought the discussion board available to online students allows students to excel in the classroom while improving their analytical and writing skills. I have been an online instructor for three years and enjoy it immensely. I am impressed by the level of education online Universities are able to achieve. I have taught many different history classes including American History 1 and 2, World Civilizations, Modern Europe, and American Women’s history.

I am currently pursuing a doctorate in History at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. I am focusing on researching and writing articles in the field of 19th and 20th century American History. I live in San Diego with my husband and two small children where we enjoy trips to the beach and time together.
