Amy  Decker

Amy Decker earned her BA in English from George Mason University in 1998. Her MA in English, also from GMU, was awarded in 2002 after the completion of her thesis Outside the Vortex: Willa Cather, The Great War, and the Politics of Literary Reputation.

Ms. Decker has taught courses in developmental reading and writing, freshman composition, fiction, advanced expository writing, and business writing in traditional, online, and hybrid environments for colleges and universities including Park University, Central Texas College, Northern Virginia Community College, Germanna Community College, and Rappahannock Community College.

She has also worked at the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum and honorably completed service with the United States Marine Corps.

In 2009 she published her first novel, Nothing Beside Remains.

Ms. Decker currently lives in Fredericksburg, VA. She is a fitness enthusiast, marathon finisher, art lover, traveler and lifelong student. She was recently recognized for scoring among the top 15 percent of all test takers in all previous years on the ETS Praxis II test for content knowledge related to English language and literature.
