Biography - Andre W Rawls


Dr. Rawls currently serves as On-line faculty teaching Multicultural Psychology and Ethics in Psychology on the Master’s level. She teaches Psychology 101,Psychology of Disease, Psychology of Substance Abuse and the Psychology of Terrorism on the undergraduate level. She is also a Federal Grant reviewer and an independent consultant. Rawls serves on the CDC/HRSA Advisory Board and the University of Chicago's Community Advisory Research Committee.

Rawls performs supervised counseling services providing individual and family counseling. She has provided structured group therapy for elementary school student in Trauma Interventions and Anger Coping.
Rawls formerly served as State HIV/AIDS and STD Director in South Carolina, and HIV/AIDS State Director in Illinois. As a part of this work Rawls traveled to and hosted delegations from South Africa and Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa every year from 2006 to 2009 providing technical assistance and information exchange. She lead a technical assistance team to Liberia, July, 2007, the team assisted the Liberian Health Department in completing a Global Fund grant that resulted in the country being awarded 44 million dollars to fight Tuberculosis, Malaria, and HIV/AIDS
Rawls is the founder of the Visions Investment Network Consortium, founded 2003, a network of eightinvestment clubs whose primary goal is to assist African American women (and men) change their paradigm regarding wealth acquisition.
Rawls is the president of the 65th Street Development Corporation a 30 year old not for profit organization that co-owns 63 units in the Woodlawn area, the organization work toward retaining low income housing in the Woodlawn community.
Rawls is a founding member of the Lampkins Parliamentary Unit and a member of the State and National Associations of Parliamentarians.
Rawls is the proud mother of four, and grandmother of five she enjoys reading, crocheting, Scrabble and Sudoku.
